In our experience there is truth to ``you get what you pay for``.  However when it comes to pet food, there are literally hundreds of brands to choose from.  As a pet owner it can be overwhelming and price can be a poor measure for quality.

In many cases, it isn't necessarily the price you pay at the counter, but the amount you feed.  A good quality pet food feeding requirements could be as much as half that of a lower quality food. Even though you may think you saving money with he grocery store brand less expensive food, in the long run, it could actually be costing you more.

Every pet food has a feeding requirement on the label.  You should use this to compare pricing, not the actual price of the bag.
